REFLECTIONS

. . . after rebel verses we sat down to talk about how the show went and we answered these questions . . .

*describe the play, what is it about. what was your role in creating it?

*what was your favorite part?

*what was the hardest part?

*how do you feel about your performance? about the group as a whole?

WE CREATED THE PLAY BY ASKING EACH OTHER THE PROBLEMS THAT WE SEE EVERYDAY IN LIFE AND THEN WE STARTED TO DEVELOP THE PLAY. THE PLAY WAS ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD 2012. I PICKED MY CHARACTER BECAUSE I WAS CONFIDENT TO PLAY THAT ROLE (KEVIN).
MY FAVORITE PART OF THE PLAY WAS WHEN NENE STARED TO TELL HIS SECRET AND HE WAS STOPPING ALL THE TIME.
THE MOST DIFFICULT PART FOR ME WAS WHEN WE HAD TO DO THE MOVEMENTS, CHANGE PLACES ON THE STAGE.
IM SO HAPPY ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE WE DID, CAUSE EVERYBODY DIDA GREAT JOB AND ALSO KIRA DID A GREAT JOB. WE WORKED SO HARD TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN, AS A GROUP EVERYBODY CONTRIBUTED, WORKED TOGETHER.

HE PLAY WAS ABOUT 2012. THERE WAS A LOT OF WORK PUT INTO MAKING THIS PLAY. WE INVOLVED THE MEDIA, GOSSIP, RELIGION AND MUCH MORE. MY ROLE WAS JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSES TO PUT IDEAS AND THOUGHTS FORWARD TO MAKE IT THE INTERESTING PIECE THAT IT CAME OUT TO BE.
MY FAVORITE PART WAS THE END, WE DIDN'T MAKE IT CLEAR WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. THE AUDIENCE WAS LEFT AMAZED AND IN WONDER.
THE HARDEST PART FOR ME WAS TRYING TO MAKE UP A PIECE ON 2012. THERE'S SO MANY OPINONS ON THIS TOPIC THAT WE REALLY NEEDED TO BE AWARE OF THE INFORMATION RECEIVED.
WAITING BACKSTAGE WE HAD THE ONLY RUSH BUT AS WE GOT ONSTAGE THE NERVES WENT AWAY. THE RESPONSE OF THE AUDIENCE MADE US ALL PROUD.

WE CAME UP WITH THE IDEA TO MAKE THIS PLAY THAT WAS RELATED TO EVERYONE AND EVERYDAY WORRIES. SO AFTER BRAINSTORMING WE NARROWED IT DOWN TO DEATH AND STRUGGLE TO MAINTAIN A FAMILY.

MY ROLE IN THE PLAY WAS TO COME UP WITH A CHARACTER THAT WOULD BE THE OPPOSITE OF THE CHARACTERS IN THE PLAY.

MY FAVORITE PART IN THE PLAY WAS WHEN EVERYONE REPEATED THE SAME LINE, "1,600!!"

THE HARDEST PART ABOUT DOING THE PLAY WAS KNOWING ALL THE LINES AND KNOWING WHEN TO COME IN. I FEEL THAT THE PERFORMANCE FLOWED GREAT AND EVERYONE HELPED ME GREATLY.

DURING THE COLLECTIVE PROCESS WE WERE PUTTING TOGETHER IDEAS AND TOGETHER WE DECIDED THAT WE WERE GOING TO WRITE A PLAY ON A DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY AND THEIR THOUGHTS AND FEARS ABUT THE YEAR 2012 AND HOW THEY BELIEVE THE WORLD WAS GOING TO END.
MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE PLAY WAS THE RADIO HOSTS THAT WERE THERE DURING THE PLAY. THE HARDEST PART ABOUT DOING THE PLAY WAS LEARNING MY CUES PERSONALLY. I'VE NEVER DONE SOMETHING LIKE THAT BEFORE.
PERSONALLY, I'M VERY CRITICAL OF MYSELF AND BEING SUCH A PERFECTIONIST I WISHED THAT I KNEW MY LINES THOURHG AND THROUGH BUT STILL I FEEL REALLY POSITIVE ABOUT THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE. I'M STOKED TO DO IT AGAIN.

akeim
WE CREATED THE PLAY BY WORKING TOGETHER EVEN THOUGH I MESSED UP BY NOT COMING. I REALLY WISH THAT I WAS IN IT BECAUSE IT WAS MAGNIFICENT. BUT I AM HAPPY ENOUGH THAT I WAS KIRA'S ASSISTANT DIRECTOR. THIS PLAY WAS ABOUT 2012 AND HOW THE WORLD IS GOING TO COME TO AN END.

MY FAVORITE PART WAS GETTING TO MEET NEW PEOPLE AND IN THE PLAY I REALLY DID LIKE THE FATHER'S ROLE BECAUSE HE DIDN'T PLAY. THE HARDEST PART WAS TRYING TO MAKE AS LEAST MISTAKES AS POSSIBLE. I ENJOYED EVERYONE'S HARD WORK AND EFFORT. I COULD HAVE PUT IN BUT I DIDN'T BECAUSE I KEPT MISSING DAYS.

asuncion
1. PENSAMOS DE QUE QUERIAMOS HABLAR.
2. FORMAMOS LOS CARACTERES (DE UNA FAMILIA)
3. CADA UNO ESCOJIO UN CARACTER Y ESCRIBIO UN MONOLOGO

MI PARTE FAVORITO PARTE FUE CUANDO ESTABA HABLANDO EN LA OBRA Y LAS PERSONAS SE REIAN. LO MAS DIFICIL FUE CUANDO NO TENIAMOS LA OBRA TERMINADA FALTANDO UN DIA PARA PRESENTAR.

ME SIENTO FELIZ PORQUE AUNQUE TUVIMOS UNOS PROBLEMAS EN LA OBRA PERO NOS SALIO BIEN. ME SIENTO COMO DESAHOGO Y UN POCO LISTO PARA PRESENTAR OTRA OBRA.

WE WROTE DOWN A LOT OF OPTIONS THAT COULD HAE BEEN A POSSIBILITY THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A PLAY. AFTER WE CHOSE A TOPIC WE WROTE CHARACTERS, WROTE MONOLOGUES AND FINALLY A SCRIPT! WE EDITED THE SCRIPT AND PRACTICED! I WROTE WITH KAYLA FOR THE RADIO. WE CREATED TWO VERY COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHARACTERS.
MY FAVORITE PART WAS CREATING PEANUT AND DUANE. ALSO THE PERFORMANCE, PEOPLE WERE LAUGHING AND I WAS HAVING FUN!
MEMORIZING MY LINES AND TRYING TO MAKE MY CHARACTER ALIVE WAS HARD.
I LOVED OUR PERFORMANCE AS A WHOLE, HOWEVER, I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE MY CHARACTER ALIVE AND MORE SERIOUS.

Freeze and Trips

I love the classes we take and the exercises we get to do.My favorite one is a game called Freeze. The freeze game is an exercise where 2 or more people create a scene and at any point another actor outside the scene can "Freeze" the scene and take the place of a player and create a whole new scene. One of my all time favorite games in CALLE.

In addition we recently went on a trip to the "International center of photography" and saw an exhibit by Susan Meiselas who took photos during a civil war in Nicaragua during the 70's. We also saw photos of people taken in the late and early 18 and 1900's.We later went to the school of the international center of photography and saw how the photos are made and put together.

Fun Skits(scenes)

Well, these can be funny, sad, or weird scenes. I like to call it a skit because I like to do some funny acts.

Scene Improvisation is sort of a game in which two people have to use an object, place or a theme and create any type of scene.
For example:
"Wants to be Free", "Convince someone not to do something" or "Bacon"(I like Bacon, so please don't find it weird). Both actors (or actors and actress, etc...) have use use one of these in their scene.
Note: There are no scripts, but it helps to have something to start and end the scene. Besides that, it can be as entertaining as one could want it.

Neutral Scene is another way to practice ones acting skill and be a bit more creative. Both actors have to have constant focus, listen and understand each other. Neutral scenes consist of an A and B scene of neutral lines. Both actors must use these lines in anyway they want, but there can't be no adding, changing words or changing the order of the lines.
For example:
A. Yes
B. No
A. Yes
B. No, No Yes
A.No
B.Yes
Note: The last two lines can be tricky.
